How do I file an Insurance Claim?

Deadlines, Documentation, and Simple Mining's Role

Simple Mining's role is administrative. Simple Mining reviews claim requests for completeness and timeliness, submits them to the carrier, and coordinates communications. Simple Mining does not determine coverage, the carrier does.

You cannot contact the carrier directly. All claims communications must go through Simple Mining.

The 30-day deadline: Upon becoming aware of a loss, whether through Simple Mining's notification or on your own, you must submit a written claim request to Simple Mining within 30 calendar days. The clock starts on the earlier of: (a) Simple Mining's notification, or (b) the date you knew or should have known of the loss.

Claims submitted after 30 days may be rejected. Simple Mining may process late claims at its discretion, but this creates no precedent or obligation for future requests. Late-reported losses may be unclaimable with the carrier regardless of merit.

Your claim request must include: a description of affected equipment, serial numbers, and any other information Simple Mining requests.

Supporting documentation (photos, serial numbers, loss descriptions) must be provided within 30 days of your claim request or 30 days after Simple Mining requests it, whichever is later. Failure to provide documentation may result in denial.

Facility-wide events (fire, windstorm, theft affecting multiple customers): Simple Mining will proactively identify affected equipment and include it in the carrier filing. The 30-day individual claim deadline does not forfeit your eligibility for these events, as long as you provide requested documentation promptly.

Sub-deductible losses: If Simple Mining determines the total loss doesn't meet the deductible threshold, no claim will be filed and Simple Mining has no obligation to compensate you.
