What is a mining pool?
A mining pool is a group of cryptocurrency miners that combine their computing power (hashrate) to increase the likelihood of finding new blocks. When a block is mined, rewards are distributed among participants based on the amount of work each miner contributed.
Supported mining pools & fees
Clients may use any pool they choose, but we currently partner with the following pools and offer discounted fees:

We strongly recommend setting up a back up pool as well. In the event your main pool fails, your miners will automatically mine to the back up pool without any manual intervention.
Important things to know before switching pools
- Always confirm that your miners are hashing to the correct pool after a change.
- Funds sent to the wrong wallet address can not be recovered. We strongly recommend double checking your wallet address before submitting a support ticket.
- Most pools require an account, mining without an account may result in lost funds that can not be recovered. Ocean is the only pool that does not require an account.
Ocean
Ocean uses a BTC address as the worker name, no account is required.
Key details
- Minimum payout:01 BTC (cannot be changed)
- KYC: Not required (and not available)
- Setup requirement: BTC address only
- Dashboard: You can view earnings by searching your BTC address at
xyz/dashboard
Switching BTC addresses on Ocean
- Already-accrued funds do not transfer to a new address.
- If mining stops on the old address, Ocean may attempt a discretionary payout for balances ≥ 0.00065536 BTC, typically within 10–14 days.
Payout behavior
- All miners using the same BTC address contribute toward a single payout threshold.
- The payout threshold remains 0.01 BTC for all payouts, not just the first one.
When submitting your support ticket, include:
- BTC wallet address
Changing wallet addresses frequently with Ocean
While technically possible, this is not recommended because:
- Pool changes are manual.
- Accrued earnings may be delayed or forfeited if they don’t meet discretionary payout thresholds.
