Eligible Downtime — What Qualifies for Mining Recovery Credits

What is Eligible Downtime?

Eligible Downtime is the period during which your unit is producing Zero Hash Rate (0 TH/s) as a direct result of a repair being performed by Simple Mining. This is the window used to calculate Mining Recovery Credits.

Eligible Downtime begins at the start of the qualifying continuous Zero Hash Rate period (once the 48-hour Qualifying Threshold is met) and ends when the unit is re-deployed to an active hosting position and resumes producing hashrate for your account.

The 48-Hour Qualifying Threshold

Your unit must produce Zero Hash Rate continuously for 48 consecutive hours before it becomes eligible for any Mining Recovery Credits.

  • The clock starts the moment your unit's hashrate reaches and stays at zero due to a Break Event
  • The clock is independent of when a repair ticket is opened
  • If your unit produces any hashrate above zero before the 48 hours are reached, the clock resets to zero, prior periods do not accumulate
  • Once the threshold is met, credits are calculated retroactively from the first moment of the qualifying Zero Hash Rate period

What does NOT count toward Eligible Downtime?

The following periods are excluded from credit calculations entirely:

  • Curtailment or load-shedding events
  • Planned or unplanned site outages
  • Network disruptions
  • Hosting pauses (units are not actively hashing for your account during a pause)
  • Any downtime not caused by a Simple Mining repair
  • Pre-existing conditions at the time of enrollment
  • Periods during which your account was in overdue status
  • Hashrate produced during diagnostics, repair, or post-repair testing

When does Eligible Downtime end?

Eligible Downtime ends when your unit is physically re-deployed to an active hosting position at a Simple Mining facility and resumes producing hashrate for your account. Hashrate produced during testing or while the unit is not yet in an active hosting position does not count as restored operation.
